Freestyle Season Info

We wanted to make everyone aware of the various club, camp, and tournament options that are available for the freestyle season.   Our most successful wrestlers participate regularly in the freestyle season clubs and tournaments. We encourage everyone to find a place that works for them as freestyle and greco will allow you to continue to hone and improve your skills, provide you experience with different partners, and keep you involved!

In the camps and tournaments folder there is information for three good clubs (Bear Claw, Chain, and Eastside wrestling) recommended by the team moms who have had current and past wrestlers part of these clubs.  You can also do a search for nearby club option on the USA Wrestling website (https://www.teamusa.org/usa-wrestling/membership/athletes/find-a-club). Many of these will allow you to drop in to try it out before registering and paying as long as you have a USA Wrestling card.

We also will be working with Liberty to combine with them on a freestyle club.  For now it will be on Tuesdays and Thursdays but the details are not solidified yet as we are still waiting to get info back from the Liberty coaches.  As soon as we have it, we will send it out immediately.  Once we have that solidified, we will also send out the off-season weight room schedule.

The schedule for tournaments is posted on the Issaquah Wrestling Blog (http://issaquah-wrestling.blogspot.com/) and also attached here.  We would encourage you to participate in as many as you can!

Last, camps are a great opportunity to get some intensive training.  One that is recommended is the Washington Intensive camp on July 16th through the 22nd.  More info can be found here (http://kicintensive.com/washington-intensive/).
