TEAM UPDATES

ISSAQUAH EAGLES WIN THE KINGCO TOURNAMENT!!!! 

The Eagles swept the tournament with all weight classes placing in the top 6 of their weight classes!! William Tickman (106), Stevie Solusod (113), Gunner Starren (126), and Colby Starren (160) finished in in 1st place!!! Devin Charles (113), Jordan Hamilton (138), and Chance Gunter (182) finished 2nd place!! Dakota Kutz (120) and Hunter Hurley (145), and Kai Hapke (160) finished in 3rd place! Danny Quaranta (182) finished in 4th place! Nyan Hartman (132), Brandon Vrinceanu (152), and Terry Zaragoza (220) finished in 5th place!  These wrestlers continue on next week to the Regional Tournament at Inglemoor High School!
Yashar Ghavidel (132), Dean Pearson (170), and David Corbitt (195) finished in 6th place! They continue on as alternates at the Regional Tournament.

 ISSAQUAH EAGLES dominate the SKYLINE SPARTANS! The EAGLES closed the season with a decisive win over the SPARTANS by a score of 58-7!  Dakota Kutz (120); Jordan Hamilton (138); Hunter Hurley (145); Brandon Vrinceanu (152); Colby Starren (160); Bryce Magee (170); Chance Gunter (182); and David Corbitt (195) all defeated their Skyline challengers.  William Tickman (106); Stevie Solusod (113), and Terry Zaragoza all won by forfiet!!  Way to finish the season EAGLES!!

 ISSAQUAH EAGLES defeat the BOTHELL COUGARS by a close 42-36 decision.  Victorious wrestlers include: William Tickman (106) pin; Stevie Solusod (113) by a pin; Dakota Kutz (120) by a pin; Gunner Starren (126) by a Forfeit; Jordan Hamilton (145) by a pin; Colby Starren (160) by a pin; and Chance Gunter (182) by a pin!!!  Way to go EAGLES!  Join us for the season finale at Issaquah High School on Saturday at 1:00 pm against SKYLINE Spartans!!!

ISSAQUAH EAGLES take 2nd out of 17 participating teams in the Lakes Tournament!  The Eagles Stevie Solusod (113) wowed the crowds with his quick shot, dominating his opponents to capture 1st place! Likewise, Kacie Moorehouse (170) swept the tournament, pinning all of her opponents on her way to the top of the podium!! William Tickman (106) and Colby Starren (160) lost by points in the finals.  Dakota Kutz (120), Jordan Hamilton (145), Hunter Hurley (152), and David Corbitt (195) all had strong showings, capturing 3rd place at the tournament!!!  Way to go Eagles!!

 ISSAQUAH EAGLES defeat the Redmond Mustangs and the Newport Knights in a double header!!  William Tickman (106); Stevie Solusod (113); Dakota Kutz (120); Gunner Starren (126); Kaleb Solusod (138); Jordan Hamilton (145); Hunter Hurley (145); Brandon Vrinceanu (152); Colby Starren (160); Chance Gunner (182); and David Corbitt (195) all contributed to the stunnning victories!!!  JV blazed the trail to glory with Ben Lewis, Chase Helgesson, Chip Hoehl defeating their opponents!!!  Way to go EAGLES!!

ISSAQUAH JV WRESTLERS had a fantastic time at the JV Liberty Tournament!   Congratulations to Ben Lewis (152) and Kaleb Solusod (138) for finishing first place!!!  Way to go Eagles!

ISSAQUAH EAGLES face a disappointing defeat against the Inglemoor Vikings! The Eagles lost to the Vikings by a score of 20-50.  Stevie Solusod (113), Gunner Starren (126), and Colby Starren (160) all defeated their opponents.  William Tickman (106) brought the Eagles 6 points for a forfiet.

The Eagles placed 5th out of 30 teams at the Everett Classic.  Placers include: William Tickman (106)-5th Varsity; Cameron Rasmus (113)- 1st JV; Stevie Solusod (113)- 1st Varsity; Gunner Starren (132)- 1st JV; Jordan Hamilton (138)- 3rd Varsity; Hunter Hurley (145)- 2nd Varsity; Chase Helgesson (152)- 1st JV; Colby Starren (160)- 2nd Varsity; and Kacie Moorehouse (170)- 1st Girls. Stevie Solusod wowed the crowd as he pinned all of his opponents standing in his path to 1st place! Special thanks to Emily Bressler and our dedicated fans, who cheered for 12+ hours! Way to go EAGLES!

ISSAQUAH EAGLES dominate the Nathan Hale Tournament! The Eagles took 1st overall at the Nathan Hale Tournament. Placers include: William Tickman (106)-1st place; Cameron Rasmus (106)- 3rd place; Dakota Kutz (120)- 2nd place; Gunner Starren (126)- 1st place; Chip Hoehl (126)-2nd place; Jordan Hamilton (138)- 2nd in the day's biggest upset, to Kaleb Solusod (138)- 1st place; Hunter Hurley (145)- 1st; Brandon Vrinceanu (152)- 1st place; Kai Hapke (160)- 2nd place; Dean Pearson (160)- 4th place; Colby Starren (170)- 2nd place; Bryce Magee (170)- 4th place; Chance Gunter (182)- 3rd place; and Terry Zaragoza (220)- 4th place.  Way to go Eagles!!!

ISSAQUAH EAGLES defeat the Eastlake Wolves by a score of 44-32.  Brandon Vrinceanu (152) won by a decision of 8-4. Dean Pearson (160) won by a decision of 7-2. William Tickman (106), Stevie Solusod (113), Dakota Kutz (120), Jackson Tingman (126), Nyan Hartman (132), and Jordan Hamilton (138) received forfeits from the Wolves.
Issaquah Eagles were narrowly defeated by the Mt. Si Wildcats by a score of 36-30.  Stevie Solusod (113) brought his opponent to his back in the first period. Jordan Hamilton (138) pinned his opponent in 36 seconds.  Hunter Hurley (145) pinned his opponent in just under 5 minutes.  Yashar Ghavidel and David Corbitt won by points.  William Tickman (106) received a forfeit.  What a nailbiter!!

ISSAQUAH EAGLES SOAR AT THE BATTLE OF THE BORDER!!!! 

 The Eagles did more than stand their ground this weekend at the Battle of the Border in Blaine, WA, by showcasing 3 finalist. William Tickman crushed his opponents at 106 lbs. to capture 1st place as the ultimate light weight.  Stephen Solusod stomped his way through the opposition at 113 lbs., taking 2nd place.  Jordan Hamilton's final match was the show stopper of the night at 145 lbs., as he battled the number 1 seed.  The two ended the 3rd period with a 4-4 tie, meeting head to head in overtime.  Jordan Hamilton, gave up the take down and ended up taking 2nd place. Hunter Hurley (145) wowed the crowd with his flexibility and finesse, finishing in 4th place.  Cameron Rasmus (106), Chris Bailey (120), Chip Hoehl (126),Yashar Ghavidel (132), Nyan Hartman (138), Brandon Vrinceanu (152), Chase Helgesson (152), Dean Pearson (160), Kacie Moorehouse (170), Chance Gunter (182), David Corbitt (195), and Terry Zaragoza (220) all contributed to the team's overall outstanding accomplishments, leading the way to the team's 7th (out of 22) finish.  Way to go Eagles!!

CLASH OF THE CLASSES 3A/4A TOURNAMENT!  Issaquah Eagles captured the plaque!!!  The Eagles defeated all of their opposing teams this weekend in an outstanding victory at Skyline's annual tournament.  Be sure to stop by and visit the plaque this year at it's rightful residence in the Issaquah Trophy case!  Way to go Eagles!!

WAY TO GO EAGLES!!!!!!  WHAT A GREAT SEASON OPENER! Issaquah Eagles defeats Woodinville Falcons with a score of 51-25.  Dakota Kutz (120), Nyan Hartman (138), Hunter Hurley (152), Brandon Vrinceanu (160), and Terry Zaragoza (220) won their season openers.  William Tickman (106), Stephen Solusod (113), Chance Gunter (182), and David Corbitt (195) received forfiets.  All wrestlers fought hard to bring the Eagles their first victory of the season! 

Issaquah Eagles had a great pre-season event at the Liberty Jamboree.

 There will be practice from 8:00-10:00 AM on Saturday, November 29th at the High School.  All wrestlers should attend.

 Congratulations to Torre Eaton who placed 3rd at the Tacoma Dome at Saturday's state competition!!!

Torre Eaton defeats Jose Garcia (Moses Lake)4-3 in triple overtime.
 Torre Eaton, Louden Ivey, Hunter Hurley, and Colby Starren all wrestled tough at the first day of the state competition.  Torre Eaton (113) defeated all of his challengers on the first day of competition and went on to the second day of wrestling at the dome.  He lost his first match on Saturday putting him in the consolation bracket for 3rd place.  Luckily, he defeated his challenger by a score of 8-4,  placing 3rd in State!!!  What a great finish to a spectacular season!!!

Congratulations to all of our wrestlers who placed in the top 5 at Regionals!

Way to go all of our Kingco participants!  Torre Eaton and Louden Ivey both placed first in their weight classes.  William Tickman and Colby Starren took second, Stephen Solusod and Hunter Hurley took third, Seth Hartman took fifth, and Jordan Hamilton and Parker Hamilton finished sixth. Overall, Issaquah Eagles had 8  placers; 6 of those wrestlers advance to next week's regional competition at Inglemoor High School, while Jordan and Parker remain alternates.  Good luck wrestlers!

ISSAQUAH EAGLES ARE THE 2013-2014 LEAGUE CHAMPS!

Issaquah Eagles were hosted by the tough Woodinville Falcon wrestling team!  Both teams fought hard down to the last two matches of the evening.  Torre Eaton and Parker Hamilton won by points.   Louden Ivey, Hunter Hurley, and Colby Starren all won by a pin.  William Tickman, returning from injury, won by a forfeit, as did Stephen Solusod.  It was an exciting match for all!  
Way to go EAGLES!!!  
Good luck to our JV wrestlers participating in the Kingco Pre-qualifier at Bothell this weekend!!!

Issaquah Wrestlers had a busy weekend!  
JV wrestlers battled tough at the Auburn Mountainview Tournament
Varsity wrestlers were at the Jack Reynolds Scholarship Tournament on Mercer Island.  Torre Eaton (113) and Colby Starren (160) continued their winning streak, placing 1st.  Jordan Hamilton (132) and Louden Ivey (138) battled tough, each placing 3rd. Way to go EAGLES!
Issaquah continues the winning streak with a decisive victory over Ballard Torre Eaton (113), Chip Hoehl (126), and Louden Ivey (138) contributed early pins to the Eagles stunning triumph!  Way to go Eagles!!!
What a victory of epic proportion!  Issaquah Eagles defeat Inglemoor Vikings, 36-34. Rob Steil (220), Torre Eaton (113), Stephen Solusod (120), Jordan Hamilton (132), Louden Ivey (138), Hunter Hurley (152), and Caleb Elam (160) helped the Eagles overcome the stiff Vikings competition this week.  The Vikings led the Eagles for much of the match, but once the lightweights took the mat, the competition tightened.  At the start of the final match, the Eagles were trailing the Vikings, but thanks to a fierce battle, Caleb Elam helped secure the Eagles victory!

One for the history books......Issaquah High Jr. Varsity Wrestling places 3rd in the overall team standings at the 2014 Bonney Lake Wrestling Tournament with 8 individual placers.

Issaquah Eagles defeat Bothell Cougars 45-30.  Torre Eaton, Jordan Hamilton, Louden Ivey, Seth Hartman, Colby Starren, Parker Hamilton all earned decisive wins for the Eagles.  William Tickman and Jacob Lerch accepted forfeits for the Eagles.  Way to go Eagles!!!

Issaquah Eagles put in a strong performance at the Cardinal Classic placing 4th overall.  Congratulations to Torre Eaton, 113, and Colby Starren, 160, who took 1st place!

Louden Ivey, 138, finished 3rd; Hunter Hurley, 160,  finished 2nd; and Chance Gunter, 182, finished 3rd.  Nice job to all the Eagles who wrestled with great style today!

Junior Varsity Issaquah Eagles had a wonderful time at the Everett Gold Tournament!!  Wow, 60% of our parents were there to cheer the Eagles to victory.  Our head coach, unfortunately ill, stayed in constant communication with assistant coaches Brown and Hamilton, to ensure that our wrestlers got the job done!  

Stevie, Ricardo, Hunter, Alex B., Alejandro, and Gabriel all finished with 1st place medals!  Matt-great sportsmanship and fight! Chip--awesome cradle.  Yoshar-- nice half! Micky--great techniques! Nyan- strong determination and drive! Mean Dean!! Ben--courageous smile and attitude.  Brandon M.-- fortitude defined! Chase-- amazing motion and agility! Caleb-- the powerhouse!! Alex Z.--strong fight! Terry--  heavy head and arm.

Issaquah Eagles took 14 wrestlers to the Battle at the Border in Blaine, WA, this past weekend. William Tickman, 106, finished 5th. Tickman, a freshman, is the youngest Eagle to place this high at Battle in 13 years. Other placers included juniors: Jordan Hamilton, 132, finished 5th; and  Colby Starren, 160, finished 4th. Congratulations to all our wrestlers for a great job.


Issaquah defeats Newport by a score of 48-28! Jordan Hamilton, Louden Ivey, Brandon Vrinceanu, and Parker Hamilton contributed to the Eagle victory with decisive pins!  Way to go Eagles!


Issaquah defeats Garfield in the first away match of the season by a score of 61-24!  Way to go Eagles!!
